Retail sales in Poland rose by 2.2% year-on-year in June 2025, easing from a 4.4% increase in May and well below market expectations of a 4% advance. The latest reading marked the third consecutive month of growth but the softest in the sequence, as sales slowed significantly for motor vehicles, motorcycles, parts (7.7% vs 15.7%), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (10.2% vs 18.9%), and newspapers, books, other sales in specialized stores (1.9% vs 3.5%). Additionally, trade declined for food, beverages and tobacco products (-0.1% vs 1.5%). Meanwhile, increased faster for textiles, clothing and footwear (11.8% vs 4.7%) and solid, liquid and gaseous fuels (5.7% vs 4.9%). On a monthly basis, retail activity fell by 1.8% in June, following a 3.2% drop in the previous month.
