Retail sales in Estonia rose by 1.8% year-on-year in March 2025, slowing from an almost three-year of 4.4% in the previous month. This marked the fourth consecutive month of growth in retail activity albeit at a slower pace, as sales moderated for automotive fuel (14.7% vs 21.3% in February) and computers, peripheral units and software; telecommunications equipment, etc. in specialised stores (24.9% vs 27.7%). Additionally, trade declined in non-specialised stores (-6% vs -4.5%) and second-hand goods in stores, retail sales in kiosks and markets, other retail sales not in stores, kiosks and markets (-1.5% vs 10.1%). Conversely, sales increased via mail order houses or via the internet (1.6% vs -7.1%) and medical & orthopedic goods, cosmetic & toilet articles (6.6% vs 3.7%), while it decreased less for textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods (-1.4% vs -7.9%). On a monthly basis, retail activity climbed by 12.1%, rebounding sharply from a 2.7% drop in the preceding period.
