The annual inflation rate in Luxembourg rose to 2.7% in September 2025, the highest since March 2024, up from 2.4% in the previous month. The increase was mainly driven by faster price growth in housing and utilities (6.1% vs 5.3% in August), transport (2.1% vs 1.0%), and education (6.2% vs 0.6%), alongside a rebound in furnishing, household equipment and maintenance (0.4% vs -0.2%). In contrast, price growth slowed in food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.5% vs 2.7%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.8% vs 2.2%), recreation and culture (3.3% vs 3.9%), restaurants and hotels (2.8% vs 3.0%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.8% vs 2.5%), while prices further declined in communication (-1.7% vs -0.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in September, reversing a 1.3% increase in August.
