Saudi Arabia's annual inflation rate ticked down to 2.1% in July 2025 from 2.3% in the previous month. Prices moderated for housing, water, and electricity (5.6% vs 6.5% in June), tobacco (0.4% vs 0.5%), education (1.1% vs 1.4%), and restaurants and hotels (1.4% vs 1.6%). Moreover, prices decreased at a faster pace for furnishings and household equipment (-2% vs -1.7%). Meanwhile, costs accelerated for food and beverages (1.6% vs 1.5%), recreation and culture (0.7% vs 0%), and personal goods and services (4.3% vs 4.1%). Additionally, deflation slowed for transport (-0.3% vs -0.7%), clothing and footwear (-0.4% vs -0.6%), communications (-1.1% vs -1.2%), and health (-0.2% vs -0.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in June, following a 0.2% rise in the preceding month.

The annual wholesale price inflation in Saudi Arabia stood at 2.1% in July 2025, remaining at its highest level since October 2024, while maintaining the same pace in the previous month. This was mainly driven by higher prices in food products, beverages, tobacco, and textiles (0.3% vs 0.2% in July), while costs fell slower for ores and minerals (-0.8% vs -1.1%). At the same time, price growth rebounded for metal products, machinery, and equipment (0.1% vs -0.3%), while costs remained unchanged for agriculture and fishery products (4.4%). Meanwhile, a decrease was seen in prices for other transportable goods, except metal products, machinery, and equipment (4.1% vs 4.5%). On a monthly basis, wholesale prices fell by 0.1% in July, unchanged from the preceding month.

Industrial production in Saudi Arabia expanded by 7.9% year-on-year in June 2025, accelerating sharply from an upwardly revised 2.6% increase in May. The growth was primarily driven by an 11.1% rise in manufacturing output, supported by strong gains in chemicals and chemical products (18.7%) and coke and refined petroleum products (15.3%). Additionally, mining and quarrying activity grew by 6.0%, as the country’s oil production rose to 9.36 million barrels per day, up from 8.83 million barrels in June 2024. The water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation sector also recorded robust growth, rising by 6.9%, while electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply increased by 5.6%. On a monthly basis, industrial output rose by 1.6%, easing from an upwardly revised 3.4% increase in May.

Riyad Bank Saudi Arabia's PMI fell to 56.3 in July 2025, from a three-month high of 57.2 in the previous month. The deceleration was largely due to a slower pace of growth in both output and new business, with new order volumes expanding at its weakest rate in three and a half years. On the employment front, job creation picked up notably during the month, partly reflecting rising backlogs of work. In terms of pricing, input cost pressures remained elevated across the non-oil private sector, although the overall pace of inflation eased slightly compared to the second-quarter average. This came despite a sharp rise in wages, driven by efforts to retain staff and offer bonuses. Consequently, firms raised their selling prices for the second consecutive month. Lastly, business sentiment toward future activity declined noticeably from June’s two-year high. Although companies remain generally optimistic about output growth, overall confidence dropped to its lowest level since July 2024.
