Producer prices in Jordan fell by 0.75% year-on-year in April 2025, following a 0.38% decline in the previous month. This marked the third consecutive month of decreases, primarily driven by a deeper drop in manufacturing prices (-0.94% vs -0.43% in March), which account for 88.74% of the index. In contrast, prices rose in both mining & quarrying (0.49% vs -0.69%) and electricity (1.02% vs 0.62%). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.57% in April, reversing a 0.23% increase in March. Over the first four months of 2025, producer prices edged down by 0.27% compared to the same period in 2024.

Industrial output in Jordan rose by 1.73% year-on-year in March 2025, easing from a 4.11% increase in the previous month. This marked the ninth consecutive month of growth in industrial activity but was the slowest pace since October due to moderating manufacturing growth (3.38% vs 3.78% in February) and electricity production (4.02% vs 6.36%). Meanwhile, quarrying output dropped sharply by 23.89% in March. On a monthly basis, industrial production rebounded by 0.44%, following a 0.5% decline in February. For the first quarter of 2025, industrial output expanded by 2.73% from the same period a year earlier.

The annual inflation rate in Jordan rose to 1.83% in April 2025, up from a 1.64% in the previous month. Prices increased mostly for personal effects (21.9% vs 20.5% in March), fruits and nuts (15.2% vs 2.5%), tobacco and cigarettes (steady at 12.6%), tea, coffee and cocoa (9.3% vs 4.6%), and spices, food additives and other food (5.5% vs 5.3%). However, the overall increase was partially offset by a decline in the cost for household supplies; furniture, rugs and bedding; vegetables and legumes dry and canned; and fish and sea products. On a monthly basis, CPI rose by 0.09% in April 2025, slightly higher than the 0.06% increase in the previous month.
