Industrial output in Jordan grew by 0.43% year-on-year in June 2025, slowing from May’s 0.74% increase. This marked the twelfth consecutive month of growth in industrial activity, though it was the softest pace since June 2024, when output shrank by 3.02%. The slowdown came amid much softer growth in mining and quarrying activity (2.68% vs 10.93% in May), along with a sharp decline in electricity production (-9.30% vs 8.26%). However, the downturn was partially offset by a rebound in manufacturing (0.97% vs -0.32%), which accounts for the majority of total output. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 2.31%, easing from a 2.95% gain in May, which had marked the fastest growth in a year. For the first half of 2025, industrial output expanded by 1.8% compared to the same period a year earlier.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.10% in July, the first monthly decline in 10 months, following a 0.19% increase in June.

Producer prices in Jordan fell by 0.18% year-on-year in June 2025, easing from a sharper 1.39% decline in the previous month. This marked the fifth consecutive period of producer deflation but was the mildest drop since February, as manufacturing costs fell at a slower pace (-0.70% vs -1.87% in May). The softer decline was mainly due to moderated price drops in food products, paper and paper products, and refined petroleum. Meanwhile, producer inflation in the mining and quarrying sector accelerated to 5.74% from 2.81% in May, largely driven by a 17.3% surge in the cost of extracting crude oil and natural gas. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.41%—the first increase since January—reversing a 0.17% fall in the previous period.
