Industrial output in Jordan advanced 4.67% year-on-year in December 2024, accelerating from a 3.08% increase recorded in the previous month. This was the sixth consecutive period of growth in industrial activity, and marks the strongest growth rate since October 2022. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 0.87%. For the entire year, industrial output showed an increase of 1.10% compared to the preceding year.

Prices declined in manufacturing (-0.99%) and electricity (-1.83%), while remaining nearly unchanged in the quarrying sector. On a monthly basis, producer prices edged down by 0.26% in December, after a 0.41% rise in the prior month. In 2024, producer prices fell by 0.58% compared to the previous year.

Producer prices in Jordan dropped by 1.12% year-on-year in November 2024, following a 2.11% fall in the previous month, marking the third consecutive month of deflation. The softer decline came due to a softer fall in manufacturing costs (-1.23% vs -2.18% in October 2024) amid a rebound in electricity (0.72% vs -2.32%). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying costs continued to decrease (-1.28% vs -0.77%). For the first eleven months of 2024, producer prices fell by 0.54%. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.41% in November, rebounding from a 1.28% drop in the prior month.

Industrial output in Jordan expanded by 3.08% year-on-year in November 2024, accelerating from a 1.20% gain in the previous month. It marked the fifth consecutive month of growth in industrial production, due to a much faster rise in manufacturing output (2.81% vs 0.56% in October) and electricity (8.33% vs 2.63%). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying production (1.92% vs 10.57%) continued to rise. On a monthly basis, industrial production rose by 0.86% in November, the first monthly increase in three months, rebounding from a 2.96% drop in October, which was the steepest decline in eleven months. Considering the first eleven months of 2024, industrial output grew 0.81% compared to the same period in 2023.
