The number of tourist arrivals in Macau increased by 13.7% year-on-year to 3.14 million in October 2024, recovering to 97.7% of the level in October 2019. Both same-day and overnight visitors grew by 23.2% and 3.1%, respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day from a year earlier to 1.1 days, with that of overnight visitors remaining unchanged at 2.3 days. Visitors from mainland China rose by 16.1% to 2.26 million, with those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme rising by 6.8%. Additionally, visitors from Taiwan climbed by 28% to 68.7 thousand, while those from Hong Kong dropped by 0.2% to 590.9 thousand. Moreover, international visitors surged 31.2% to 212.3 thousand. For the first ten months of 2024, the number of visitor arrivals expanded by 28.1% to 29.1 million.
