The annual inflation rate in Latvia eased to 3.3% in March 2025 from an 18-month high of 3.7% in February. The slowdown was mainly driven by lower inflation in housing and utilities (1.2% vs 1.5% in February), and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (1.8% vs 2.4%). Transport costs also declined by 2.1% after remaining flat in the previous month. On the other hand, inflation picked up for food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.4% vs 5.7%), as well as for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (9.8% vs 8.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.9%, the largest increase since March 2024, following a 0.8% rise in February.
