Wholesale prices in Ireland fell by 3.5% year-on-year in July 2025, slowing from a 4.6% fall in the previous month. Prices decreased at a softer pace for mining and quarrying (-3.6% vs -3.7% in June), transportable goods (-3.5% vs -4.6%), and manufacturing excluding food (-4.3% vs -5.6%). Meanwhile, prices edged down for food products (4% vs 4.2%), mainly attributed to easing costs of dairy products (11.1% vs 22%) and bakery and farinaceous products (0.2% vs 0.5%). On a monthly basis, wholesale prices declined by 0.5% in July 2025, easing from a 2% drop in the previous month.

Residential property prices in Ireland rose 7.8% year-on-year in June 2025, unchanged from May’s downwardly revised increase. National house prices climbed 8.0% from 7.9% in the previous month, while apartment prices slowed to a 6.6% gain from 7.0% in May. Regionally, property prices in Dublin advanced 6.6%, slowing from a 6.8% increase in May, while prices outside the capital rose 8.8% from 8.6% in the prior month. On a monthly basis, residential property prices climbed 0.9% in June, marking the fastest pace since November 2024, following a 0.6% rise in May.

Ireland's trade surplus widened slightly to €5.3 billion in June of 2025, compared with €5.1 billion in the same month last year. Exports rose 4.8% year-on-year to €17.5 billion, driven by medical & pharmaceutical products (+8.9%), which accounted for 41.4% of total exports, and office machines & automatic data processing machines (+204.5%). Exports of organic chemicals fell 29.9%. By destination, the US remained the top market, accounting for 24.9% of exports, followed by the Netherlands (13.9%) and Belgium (10.1%), with exports to the US declining 23.4% year-on-year. Imports rose 5.6% year-on-year to €12.3 billion, led by medical & pharmaceutical products (+70.7%), office machines & adp machines (+41.8%) and organic chemicals (+3.5%). Germany was the largest supplier, representing 12.7% of total imports, followed by the US (12.6%) and France (12.1%). Imports from the US dropped 24.7% year-on-year, while imports from the UK fell 11.8%.

The AIB Ireland Construction PMI dropped to 47.1 in July 2025, down from June’s 48.6, marking a third consecutive contraction in the sector. It also represented the steepest decline since December 2023, as new orders grew at the slowest pace since February amid reports of customers delaying decisions due to economic uncertainty. Both housing and civil engineering activity recorded contractions, while the commercial sector saw activity increase for the sixth month running, albeit at a modest pace — the weakest in this sequence. Employment increased for the fifth month in a row, but constructors scaled back their purchasing activity for the first time since January. Meanwhile, suppliers’ delivery times lengthened by the most in three months, with reports citing staff shortages at vendors. On the pricing front, input cost inflation accelerated. Looking ahead, business sentiment weakened to a 32-month low amid uncertainty around U.S. trade policy and geopolitical tensions.
