Producer prices in Finland fell by 2.0% year-on-year in May 2025, following a 1.1% decline in the previous month. This marked the second consecutive month of producer deflation and the steepest decline since last October, driven by sharper price drops in several sectors. Notably, prices in manufacturing fell 1.5% (vs -1.1% in April), particularly due to a decline in refined petroleum products. Declines also deepened in mining and quarrying (-5.1% vs -3.5%) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-10.0% vs. -3.0%). Additionally, price growth slowed significantly for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services, easing to 3.3% from 7.9% in the previous month. On a monthly basis, producer prices shrank by 1.3% in May 2025, following a 0.7% decline in the previous month, marking the third straight month of decline and the steepest fall since May 2023.
