Qatar’s S&P Global PMI rose to 51.0 in February 2025, up from 50.2 in January, signaling a faster improvement in the non-energy sector. The labor market remained a key driver, with employment growth hitting a survey-record high, particularly in wholesale & retail, while construction saw the slowest hiring pace. Additionally, wage inflation remained high, with salaries rising at the second-fastest rate on record. However, new business declined for the second month, driven by weaker demand in construction and services, though manufacturing and wholesale sectors saw continued growth. Despite this, business activity remained stable, and backlogged work increased for the fifth time in six months, indicating sustained workloads. On pricing, selling prices fell for the seventh straight month, even as staff costs rose. Looking ahead, business sentiment remained positive, driven by real estate, industrial growth, population increases, and tourism.
