Average weekly earnings of non-agricultural workers in Canada rose 4.3% from a year earlier to $1,291 in March 2025, slowing form the 5.4% increase in February to mark the softest rise in nine months. Earnings were lower in the utilities sector (-3.6% to C$2,041.70), retail trade (-2.2%, to $733.70), and wholesale trade (-0.3%, to $1,475.20). Still, earnings were sharply higher for information and culture industries (+11.3% to $1,899.20), finance and insurance (+8.9% to $1,764.86), real estate, rental and leasing (+8.3% to $1,356.32), construction (+6.8% to $1,594.69), and professional, scientific and technical services (+6.7% to $1,866.68).
