Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia grew by 14.01% year-on-year to 13.06 million in May 2025, following a 9.15% increase in the previous month. Most international arrivals came from the Middle East (35.39%), particularly the UAE (53.17%), Yemen (38.05%), and Saudi Arabia (35.68%). In addition, arrivals from Asia (excluding ASEAN) accounted for 20.75%, with significant contributions from Hong Kong (317.66%), Timor Leste (36.85%), and the Republic of Korea (20.45%). Moreover, ASEAN countries contributed 17.79% of total arrivals, with notable increases from Brunei (88.59%), the Philippines (19.54%), and Malaysia (19.21%). In the first five months of the year, total arrivals reached 5.63 million, 7.44% higher compared to the same period last year. On a monthly basis, international visitor arrivals rose by 12.15% in May 2025. Meanwhile, the number of domestic tourism trips in May 2025 reached 97.67 million, an increase of 17.81% compared to May 2024.
