The S&P Global Russia Manufacturing PMI increased to 51.3 in November 2024 from 50.6 in September, marking the highest reading since August as output returned to growth amid stronger demand conditions. It also marked the 2nd straight month of expansion in factory activity, as new orders grew marginally, with foreign sales growing for the fourth month running. Although softening on the month, the pace of increase was solid overall. Employment fell fractionally while backlogs of work declined for the fourth time in the last six months as firms were able to deplete work-in-hand successfully. Meanwhile, delivery times lengthened but the smallest in five months. On prices, input cost accelerated to the fastest since October 2023 amid exchange rate weakness and higher supplier costs while output cost inflation rose to the strongest in a year as manufacturers passed through higher costs to customers. Lastly, business sentiment improved to a four-month high.
