Additionally, the ongoing escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict bolstered the dollar's safe-haven appeal. The greenback was gaining against the Euro and Pound but weakened against the Japanese yen.

Meanwhile, economic data painted a mixed picture. Initial claims came below forecasts last week, signalling the labour market remains strong but the Philly Fed Manufacturing index unexpectedly moved to negative territory.
