British American Tobacco was also among the worst performers, falling more than 2% after announcing the immediate departure of its finance chief Soraya Benchikh, after roughly 15 months in the position. On the upside, shares of distribution giant Bunzl PLC jumped over 6% to lead the index, after the company resumed its share buyback program and reaffirmed its 2025 outlook, despite reporting an 11.2% decline in first-half profit.
