South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol unexpectedly declared martial law late Tuesday, citing concerns over opposition parties disrupting the parliamentary process. However, he reversed the decision after the National Assembly voted against it. In response, the Bank of Korea announced plans to temporarily inject sufficient liquidity to stabilize both financial and foreign exchange markets. Additionally, the central bank indicated it could make special loans available to further support market stability. Reports suggested that the Bank of Korea stands ready to allocate up to 10 trillion won to a stock market stabilization fund if needed. Among the biggest losers were major index stocks, including Samsung Electronics (-0.9%), LG Energy Solution (-1.5%), and Hyundai Motor (-1.6%).
