The S&P Global Russia Services PMI increased to 53.2 in November 2024, up from October’s 51.6, marking the highest reading since January 2024, as a sharper rise in new orders supported output growth. New orders increased for the fifth consecutive month and the fastest pace since March supported by the release of new service lines. Despite further expansion in employment, with the job the pace of job creation softened to the slowest since February, service providers registered renewed pressure on capacity, as backlogs of work rose for the first time in eight months. On the price front, input prices rose due to higher supplier, transportation, and wage costs amid weak exchange rates. However, the input inflation eased fractionally and was slower than the series trend. Meanwhile, input cost inflation slowed to a three-month low. Lastly, business sentiment improved amid hopes of strengthening demand conditions and investment in new service lines.
