The local market tracked Wall Street’s overnight gains, lifted by an upward revision to US second-quarter GDP data and strong earnings from AI chip giant Nvidia. Investors now await the US PCE inflation report, due later today, for further clues on the Federal Reserve's rate outlook. On the corporate front, utility stocks remained among the top performers, with Meridian Energy (+1.8%), Contact Energy (+1.2%), Mercury NZ (+0.9%), and Vector (+2.0%) all finishing higher.
