Market sentiment also improved on the back of easing trade tensions, with President Donald Trump indicating that trade negotiations with key partners were ongoing. Additionally, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated on Monday that a trade deal with India could be one of the first to be signed, possibly within the next week or two. Among individual stocks, Reliance Industries surged 2.3%, extending its 5.3% gain to a six-month high on Monday, following better-than-expected quarterly results. However, pharma and metals stocks faced downward pressure.

The central bank is expected to continue cutting rates as the latest inflation data showed that price growth fell to an over five-year low. In the meantime, the rupee halted its selloff and allowed foreign investors to reconsider buying Indian bonds, reigniting foreign inflows into domestic fixed-income securities following their inclusion in funds by DBS and JPMorgan.
