Germany's DAX was little changed around 24,210 on Friday afternoon, with traders assessing fresh economic data and corporate earnings from both sides of the Atlantic. Markets saw few surprises in the US inflation report, with softer-than-expected data strengthening bets on a Fed rate cut next week. In Europe, preliminary PMI surveys showed Eurozone private sector activity rose at its fastest pace since mid-2023 in October, driven by strong services growth in Germany. Attention now turns to the upcoming meeting between President Trump and Xi Jinping, expected to provide greater clarity on the trade front. Among equities, Siemens Energy led the way, up 2.7%, followed by Heidelberg Materials (+2.5%), Continental (+1.4%), Infineon Technologies (+1.2%) and Symrise (+1.2%). By contrast, SAP (-1.6%), MTU Aero Engines (-1.4%) and Beiersdorf (-1.4%) posted the biggest losses. For the week, the index was set to gain about 1.6%.
