The Shanghai Composite rose 0.65% to close at 3,382, while the Shenzhen Component gained 0.43% to 10,048 on Monday, reversing earlier losses as bargain hunting lifted sentiment. Investors are now focused on the upcoming meeting of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, where policymakers are expected to discuss anti-competition legislation and potential responses to newly imposed US tariffs and rising geopolitical tensions. However, gains were tempered by concerns over the Middle East, after the US launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend. The move marked a major escalation, with the US now aligning with Israel in its conflict with Iran, heightening fears of possible retaliation from Tehran. Among the top performers were Shenzhen Forms (+20%), Lakala Payment (+13%), and Hengbao Co. (+10%).
