London, March 1: Comments on the wires from the ECB"s Garganas show that the ECB has taken note of the recent soft EZ inflation numbers. He is quoted as saying the ECB should now wait for any rate increases and that there "is no reason to raise interest rates if inflation remains under 2%". Support bids in [EUR/USD] at 1.3170 propped the pair in Asia and were touted as option related from a notorious Asian Central Bank and given that there is a large 1.3165 expiry today at the NY cut (15:00 GMT) it may not be too spurious to connect the two. Europe did not manage a serious test of the downside and key support is now reported by dealers at 1.3180. [EUR/USD] offers are now seen at 1.3220 with support at 1.3200/05 looking to prop.
